1998 New Mexico Network
Map of the network operated in central New Mexico during 1998 and 1999. The network has similar overall dimensions as the STEPS network but fewer stations. Even with mountain blockage the New Mexico network provides good coverage over a wide spatial area (see plot below).
A (not very good) example of the spatial coverage of the New Mexico lightning mapping network. The STEPS network will not have mountain blockage and will provide equivalent or better spatial coverage.
