An animation of the lightning sequence:
Electrical activity first appeared over the volcano in (relatively) low intensity, mostly
amporphous and random discharges. The activity was localized over the volcano for the first
two minutes. After this initial period, the electrical activity moved to the NE, but is
still adjecent to the volcano. Lightning intensity increased at 03:29, about 3 minutes
after the first discharge. The lightning gradually transitioned to larger discharges as the
'storm' waned. The total duration of the lightning sequence was 23.2 minutes.
